Troop 237 Parents and Scouts
In an effort to consolidate Troop 237 emails, an=

provide you Troop news in a timely fashion, we will be sending =
out
one email per week, with links for further information, on
Wednesday afternoons. If you wish to include something in
this email, please send articles, links, pictures, etc. to the
following email address by Tuesdays at 8pm: troop237orinda@yahoo.c=
om.
This email will include scribe articles written by scouts, news
from our Scoutmaster and Senior Patrol Leader, outings flyers,
service and activities events and a troop calendar. Please
take the time to review this email. Hard copies will no
longer be mailed to families, rather, links for outings and sig=
nups
will be included in the body of the weekly emails.
At the bottom of each email, you have the ability to add or del=
ete
an email address.
We hope this new form of Troop communication better serves our
scouts and families. If you have any suggestions, please =

Troop for an informal social event this Monday, August 31,
7-8:30pm. (There will be a short PLC meeting from 6:30-7p=
m to
plan our September meetings). We will meet at the Orinda
Community Park gazebo for a BBQ, followed by games and
activities. All are welcome to this Troop sponsored event=
.

Troop meetings for the 2009-10 school year will =
now
be held from 7:30-8:30pm (meetings originally started at
8pm). Please make a note and I look forward to seeing you=
all
at our first formal meeting of the month on Monday September
14. Please initial the sign in sheet at the front door.
Scoutmaster Conferences (SC) this year will be held at my house,
not during a Troop meeting. If you wish to schedule a
conference, Scouts should call me at 254-6196 to arrange a

In preparation for the Fall Court of Honor on October 5th, Mr.
Weikert will be conducting Boards of Review on Monday September=
21,
during the Troop meeting. If you have completed your SC a=
nd
wish to schedule a BofR, Scouts should call Mr. Weikert at 254-=

to arrange a time.
A special thanks to those adults who ran over 16 merit badges f=
or
the Troop this summer. In addition, many scouts earned me=
rit
badges at summer camp. Through both these avenues, scouts
have done a terrific job exploring interests and learning new
skills. Those scouts who partially completed merit badges=
are
encouraged to finish up their requirements in a timely fashion.=
